Health care services at the heart of your community.

Prescription dispensing

Our pharmacist can dispense NHS, private and veterinary prescriptions. Our team will be available to answer any questions or queries you have about your medication at the time of dispensing.

Medication and self-care advice

If you request it, our pharamist can review your medication with you, to ensure you are getting optimum use to improve your health condition. This could entail detecting drug related problems and recommending interventions.  They may provide advice to you, or your carers, if you require help with the treatment of minor illness or long-term conditions. This might include the use of the wide range of non-prescription medicines or healthy lifestyle decisions.

Minor ailments service

The Minor Ailment Service allows eligible individuals to register with and use a community pharmacy as the first port of call for the treatment of common illnesses on the NHS.  Once registered they can present at any point with symptoms and the pharmacist, having ascertained whether the patient is still eligible to use the service, will treat, advise or refer them to another health care practitioner where appropriate. For further guidelines please see the Community Pharmacy Scotland website.

Chronic Medication Service

This service allows patients with long-term conditions to register with us for the provision of pharmaceutical care as part of a shared agreement between the patient, community pharmacist and GP. This aims to help you manage your medications over the long term.  For further information please see the Community Pharmacy Scotland website.

Smoking Cessation

For more information about related services please visit the NHS Western Isles Smokefree Hebrides on the NHS Western Isles website here.

We provide a delivery service for those unable to visit the pharmacy in person.  Deliveries are made on a daily basis from Monday to Friday and can be combined with the prescription collection service from Stornoway Surgeries.
